Synopsis:

Being a god on Earth is actually quite a terrible situation. When presented with the means to become a being who could have everything he wished, a young man, in the starting block of his life, chose to have everything.

He became a blood magus.

Excerpt:

“A paradise of reddened sands, sunburned stone columns and steps broken from untold centuries of ceaseless winds, awaits those who seek for more than their world can offer them. Structures, for which their original purpose is no longer discernable from their decaying and fragmented state, stand feebly alone in fields of lifeless desert, and bear the weight of many layers of embedded grains, beaten into the rock by the rushing currents of humid air. The unforgiving environment has never once played host to life of any kind, beyond the projections of dreamers’ bodies. The blood magus can expect no more from his life than this ghost of a fallen society, accompanied only by the words and occasional mirage of the Leviathan, who remains in the molten mantle of the world, the blood magus’ only friend.”

― “Homeland of the Blood Magus”, excerpt from the ancient blood magus text.
